Kebab in glutenfree pita bread

Recipe from @foodbymaria detailed by Belly Media: Adapted to allergene-free diet.


For 2 people

  • 2 chicken breasts, deboned and skinned
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • A bit of pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed
  • 1/2 tbsp oregano
  • Juice from 1/4 lemon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 120g of greek-style soy yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil


60 minutes

  1. Add all the ingredients of the marinade in a bowl and whip it all
  2. Add the chicken breasts, mix well, and put in the refrigerator for at least an hour (or up to 24 hours) so that the chicken sucks all the flavors.
  3. Then, pull out the chicken from the fridge and pre-heat the oven at 200C
  4. Use half an onion (use a large one otherwise it falls off) as base, and insert a stick vertically to use as skewer
  5. Place the base on a oven tray covered with baking paper
  6. Stick the chicken breasts cut into smaller pieces into the skewer. Rotate the pieces so that the pile is compact
  7. Put in the oven for 1 to 1.5 hrs, until the chicken is golden and crusty on the sides
  8. Cool down for 10-15 minutes before cutting the chicken
  9. Serve with pita bread, tzatziki, feta cheese and vegetables (e.g. aubergines, zucchinis, salad, tomatoes)
